Carlo Ancelotti has to replace various iconic Bayern Munich players

Bayern Munich ended their 2016-17 campaign by sealing yet another Bundesliga title.

This is the 5th successive domestic league title that the German club has lifted, this is evidence of the superiority that Bayern Munich has displayed and has been displaying for the past few years.

Carlo Ancelotti and his squad achieved this feat in superb way as well as Bayern Munich had a 15 points advantage over their nearest opponents in the Bundesliga race.

It was a pretty good debut season of Carlo Ancelotti as he added more trophies not only to his own collection but also to Bayern Munich´s. It might not have been a perfect debut season as his team was defeated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League as they lost to Real Madrid.

The Italian coach of Bayern Munich is hoping that his squad can perform better in the upcoming season and hopefully secure the Champions League with the German club but in order for this to happen, there are a few things that need to be done.

First of all, Ancelotti has to find players who can fill in the space that was left by Xabi Alonso and Phillip Lahm as they both retired at the end of the 2016-17 season.

Xabi Alonso hung up his playing boots when he was 35 years old while Phillip Lahm at 33 years mark and despite being at such an elevated age, both of them were regular starters and played an influential role.

Now Carlo Ancelotti has to find players who can fill in the gap left by those iconic players as well as try to find a long term replacement for Franck Ribery and ArjenRobben both of which are also reaching the final stages of their respective playing careers.
