Muller Unhappy With Position

Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller has claimed that he will be holding talks with the club in the summer over his role in the team. Müller came through the ranks at Bayern Munich and was a key part of the team that won the treble in 2013. However, his role in the new system at the club has been less pronounced. The arrival of Robert Lewandowski in the summer is expected to reduce distances even further. The 25-year-old has been linked with the likes of Manchester United in the last few weeks.

Such a move would reunites him with his former boss Louis van Gaal, who has just been announced as the new manager of United. Even the board has been less support of the player in recent weeks. The club recently stated that if Müller wanted to leave the club, then he needed to hand a transfer request. This, of course, would prevent him from getting any loyalty bonus after having been with the club for a long time. The threat from United continues to grow, but Bayern Munich appear relaxed about the situation.

The player is intending to hold the talks after the World Cup 2014. Müller is a key part of the German team that will be excited to win the World Cup.

"I've reached a point where I want to know, before next season, if I'm a key component of the Bayern XI. And if the club really has a plan for me for the next few years. That's why I am looking to have this conversation. I'm not standing before the jump now, but I cannot give any guarantees forever," said the German international in a recent interview. A couple of important names like Franck Ribery and Mario Mandzukic are also unhappy with their situation at the club.
