ON THE RADAR

Julian Draxler is on the radar of many different clubs which are keeping close tabs on the 20 years old German midfielder of Schalke 04. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all were heavily linked with the promising youngster.

The Sporting director of Bayern Munich, Matthias Sammer has recently admitted that the club has sparked interest in signing Draxler but that nothing can be certain regarding the future of the player of Schalke 04.

"I'd prefer not to comment on all those rumors. Look at what happened to Manuel Neuer. He was 100 per cent convinced that he would never join Bayern, but after playing for five years, time made him change his opinion’’.

"I also can't say what I will think in five or six or maybe even 10 years. And when you rule something out entirely and you end up playing where most people don't want you to be, the outcry is huge." Sammer revealed.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are some of the other clubs which have been linked with Draxler and the player himself has stated that both of those teams would be his dream destination but for the time being, he has no desire on leaving his current club.

"Barcelona and Real Madrid are the best-sounding names in world football. But that doesn't mean I want to go there immediately, stay at Schalke, or go somewhere else first." Draxler admitted.

For the past few years La Liga has been criticized as being a 2 horse race with Barcelona and Real Madrid being the only real contenders for the Spanish title but Athletic Madrid has emerged as serious candidates on stealing the silverware away from both powerhouses.

The German has become a league where Bayern Munich is just running past everyone and things will only get better for them as they have secured the services of Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund and the arrival of Draxler is another likely option that Pep Guardiola will surely be taking into consideration if he wants to continue dominating the Bundesliga for years to come.
