BAYERN MUNICH ANNOUNCE SANE OUT INJURED INDEFINITELY

Consistently good news at Bayern Munich is hard to come by. Either there's a crisis on the pitch or one in the dressing room, and sometimes maybe both at the same time. Following the club's 5-0 win over SC Freiburg on Sunday night, Leroy Sane was rushed to the Sabener Strasse to get an MRI for a suspected hamstring injury. Now we have an official diagnosis — a torn muscle fiber in his left thigh — and no time frame for the winger’s return.

KINGSLEY COMAN STAYS AT BAYERN

Kingsley Coman finally signs an extended contract to stay at Bayern until at least the summer of 2027. The French man puts pen to a new deal that would see him become of the highest-earning players at the club. Coman was actually close to leaving last summer, with the negotiation for a new contract taking longer than Bayern would have expected.

The PSG graduate is now a regular under Julian Nagelsmann, after being much a squad player under previous Bayern coached. Coman's current contract was supposed to expire in the summer of 2023, which was why Bayern was sweating to get this deal over the line. The desire by both parties to sign a new deal was fueled by his renewed importance to the Bavarian side.

BUNDESLIGA: BAYERN HELD AT GLADBACH

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann didn't have the best of starts in the German Bundesliga after his team could only play a score draw at the home of Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Nagelsmann and Bayern Munich are targeting a tenth straight league title this season. The Bavarian giants have won the German Bundesliga in each of the last nine seasons. The bid to win a tenth successive German Bundesliga title didn't start well following the 1-1 draw with Borussia Moenchengladbach in what was the first game of the new German Bundesliga season played on Friday night.

Borussia Moenchengladbach took the lead inside ten minutes through Alassane Plea. The French striker scored the opening goal of the new German Bundesliga season on ten minutes.

BAYERN MUNICH JOIN RACE FOR LIVERPOOL STAR

New Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has not even officially joined the club yet but he is already making transfer moves ahead of the summer. According to reports, the manager has cited Liverpool midfielder Georgio Wijnaldum as a key transfer target whom he will try to sign in the summer following his appointment as the new manager of the German Bundesliga giants.

Nagelsmann was appointed as Bayern manager after Hansi Flick declared that this season will be his last campaign at the club after agreeing to take over the vacant managerial role at the German national team following Joachim Löw's departure announcement. Nagelsmann has now started making plans for the next season and has sighted Netherlands international midfielder Wijnaldum as his priority signing.
